The Innkeeper Chronicles, Volume One – Ilona Andrews

I received an e-ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

5 Stars

Absolutely hilarious. I’ve been a fan of Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series but hadn’t yet branched out into their other works. The Innkeeper Chronicles was a great next step. This volume from Subterranean Press contains the first three Innkeeper novels.

I enjoyed every minute of my read. While there were some predictable moments, I found myself surprised frequently and often laughing out loud. I enjoy the growing cast of characters and developments between them. The plot is paced well and I didn’t want to put the book down. It wasn’t an unrelenting read, but there were no slow moments to push through.

As I read through I saw common themes of home and protecting family between the Innkeeper stories and the Kate Daniels stories – and while both contain werewolves, they’re very different ideas of werewolf.

I’m ready for more, more, more!

  1. These authors are so engaging. I have yet to find a series of theirs that I don’t enjoy. They write so well. Even predictable storylines are rich, humorous and enjoyable in their hands.
